Occasionally due to the absence of a partner, locum doctors work with the practice. You will be advised of this when making an appointment. Within the medical team individual doctors have special interests in skin disease, child health, women's health and medicine for the elderly.

Practice Nurses

Our practice nursing team: Denise Buick (PN), Kay Strachan (PN) and Sandra Taylor (Health Care Assistant) - provide a wide range of traditional and extended nursing services such as dressings, suture removal, ear syringing, and blood taking. They are closely involved in our health promotion services referred to, such as travel advice, cervical smears and the COPD, asthma, hypertension, heart disease, stroke and diabetic clinics. Patients can make an appointment with the practice nurse by either calling in to see the receptionist, or by telephoning 534301.

Practice & Business Manager

Our Practice & Business Manager is Mr Eric Blyth.   He is in overall administrative charge of the practice.  His role is to direct strategic development and business planning.  Areas included are Personnel Management and Training, Information Management and Auditing, Systems Organisation, Finance and Health & Safety.  Eric is also the chairman of South West Angus Locality Improvement Group which covers Monifieth & Carnoustie and is part of the Angus Health & Social Care Partnership.  Eric will also be happy to help if you have any enquiries, suggestions, complaints (or compliments!) relating to the practice's services.

Office Supervisor

Our Office Supervisor is Elaine Fyffe.  She manages the day to day operation of the receptionist team as well as contract responsibilities. Responsible for chronic disease management call and recall systems, data and spreadsheet management including updating patient electronic records.  She is also a staff trainer.

Our receptionists are available at all times while the surgery is open. They deal with the phones and attend the ‘front desk’. They have to run the doctors and nurses appointments, arrange the home visits and repeat prescriptions system. In addition they handle general enquiries, give out some test results and operate the medical records and filing systems. They also manage the recall systems for several areas such as diabetes, asthma, hypertension and heart clinics etc. They do a demanding job, often under very difficult circumstances, but will always try to help you as quickly and courteously as possible. Practice pharmacists

Our practice pharmacist is Mrs Jill MacLean.

District Nurses

Our district nursing team, headed by Shona Middleton and Lorna Coull, provide skilled traditional nursing care in the home for those patients unable to travel to the surgery. They offer advice and support to carers and their families. In addition they can take blood samples, carry out continence assessments, and arrange for the provision of certain aids and appliances. Health Visitors

Health visitors – Barbara MacMillan and Margaret Duncan; work alongside the doctors and nurses with special responsibility for health promotion, particularly in children. Our health visitors also offer special help in adults and children’s sleep problems, weight problems, anxiety management, and smoke cessation services. They can also help with trained counselling services, and information and advice relating to care in the community. Telephone 534377.

Chiropody Services

Russell Esplin the Chiropodist is available by appointment to priority groups only; e.g. diabetics, children, and patients of retirement age. Telephone 535215 to contact this service.

Other Services

We constantly strive to improve the range and quality available to our patients. In addition to those provided by the practice team, other clinics provided within the health centre currently include speech therapy, antenatal, child psychology, and adult psychology and counselling though this list is subject to revision periodically. These services can normally be contacted by telephoning 534301 on the specific clinic days.
